In a contract sense, an exhibit is a document with an identifying mark, such as a number or a letter, and it is a part of the contract. These documents could be called: Exhibits. Step 1
Complete the legal document to determine where to attach the exhibit. Step 2 Include a typed notation within the body of the legal document where the exhibit should be referenced. Thereafter, assign the exhibit with an identifying number or letter. For instance, this notation can state either "See Exhibit A" or "See Exhibit 1". Step 3 Label the exhibit with the assigned identifying number or letter. Whenever possible, insert the assigned number or letter on the center bottom of the first page of the exhibit. The letters or numbers identifying each attached exhibit are not included in the exhibits section of the contract. This could make the exhibits unenforceable. We recommend amending the contract to specifically identify each amendment by letter or number as a reference.
